Empowering the Youth

With two decades of dedication, FLAS has been a beacon for Latino youth and young adults. We inspire and equip youngsters to embrace healthy lifestyles that uplift themselves and those around them. Our engaging workshops focus on key areas like sexual health awareness, drug prevention strategies, leadership skills, and positive mindset cultivation tailored for individuals aged 13 to 24. Participants also receive rewards and snacks.

Behavioral Health Services

The FLAS team includes licensed social workers, LCDC and service linkage workers who provide case management services to our patients. These individuals assist clients with referrals needed in order to maintain positive health outcomes. The goal of this team is to ensure that patients have access to resources necessary to improve their mental health and wellbeing, while providing patients with the skills to achieve a positive outcome.

Housing

Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) provides an ongoing and portable rental subsidy that helps households obtain or maintain permanent housing, including assistance for shared housing arrangements, in the private rental housing market until they can enroll in the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) or other affordable housing programs

Support Groups

FLAS offers support groups for people living with HIV by facilitators with experience, sensitivity and current knowledge regarding HIV and related issues.

Support groups recommended if you are living with HIV, it can help alleviate commonly shared feelings and experiences. Members find they are not alone, and become a source hope and strength for one another. Counseling services are available to all HIV+ persons at FLAS.

Food Pantry

FLAS understands the great need in the Houston community for food security. We offer a food pantry of non-perishable items for member living with HIV or Cancer. If you or someone that you know needs food assistance, please contact us for more information. Our office number is 713-772-2366.

Case Management

FLAS currently offers case management for housing, linkage to care and behavioral health services. Our qualified bilingual team works closely with our clients to secure their needs in the following sectors:
